Printing Blocks

The wooden printing blocks are produced by artisans in India. This hand carved method of production goes back many generations and the carvers take many years to learn to produce high quality blocks and this art is often passed down from father to son. They are made from recycled hardwood for durability and we suggest cleaning with a wet toothbrush after each use and allow to dry. The children can be totally creative with them and there are a multitude of designs. They can be used on a range of fabrics and papers  ( not shiny surfaces) using any quality of paint depending on the required result. Ink pads can be used for the small designs providing the ink is wet. Being hand produced each one is unique, some are sold in assorted packs to obtain a variety of designs and the blocks pictured may not neccessarily be the exact  ones you receive.
